International multilingual standard regarding the technical classification of machine tools and auxiliary machines for woodworking. The aim of the standard was to help manufacturers and users of different nationalities to overcome language difficulties in terms of naming of woodworking machines. Particular attention is given to the terminology used in the classification. In cases when there were fears of ambiguity, the most appropriate terms were chosen in each language, not a literal translation. In addition to the dates in the official languages of ISO (English, French and Russian) are given equivalents of these terms in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and Swedish, and in the Polish standard - also in Polish.
