Responsibilities of machine manufacturers in the area of conformity assessment and manufactured technical documentation of machines result primarily from the Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC. It should also be taken into account that while the regulations on the use of machines may differ from country to country, maintaining a safety level not lower than in social directives, in the scope of new approach directives national law can not formulate higher than essential requirements. Thus, the role of national rules and standards in this area is much smaller and is limited only to aspects that are not included in the harmonized European standards.
